To proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ the Redeemer, especially to the most abandoned and poor, through missionary preaching, pastoral ministry, parish missions, retreats, sacramental care, and devotion to Our Lady of Perpetual Help.

Short History

The Redemptorists were founded on November 9, 1732 by St. Alphonsus Liguori at Scala near Amalfi, Italy, with the mission to minister to the neglected country people around Naples, inspired by Christ’s call to preach the Gospel to the poor. Over the following decades the congregation grew, spreading throughout Italy and beyond, responding to the spiritual and social needs of the faithful with missionary zeal.
