Charism

The Sisters of the Holy Family (Collegine) live the charism of education, evangelization, and pastoral service in the spirit of the Holy Family of Nazareth. They dedicate themselves to forming children, youth, and families in Christian values, strengthening faith through catechesis, and promoting human dignity through social and charitable works, especially among the poor and marginalized.

Short History

The Congregation was founded in 1717 in Sezze, Italy, by Cardinal Pietro Marcellino Corradini, who was deeply concerned about the lack of Christian education among the poor. He established the sisters to respond to this need by forming young people and families in the faith and by providing basic education rooted in Gospel values.
Over time, the congregation expanded beyond Italy into other parts of Europe, Africa, and the world. In East Africa, particularly in Kenya and Tanzania, the Collegine Sisters are actively involved in schools, health services, parish ministry, and social development programs. Today, they continue their mission of evangelization and education in response to the needs of the Church and society.
