Charism

The charism of the Holy Cross Sisters (CSC) flows from the Congregation of Holy Cross motto: “Ave Crux, Spes Unica” — “Hail the Cross, Our Only Hope.” Their mission is to make God known, loved, and served through:
Education – forming hearts and minds in schools and learning centers; Pastoral care and parish support – building strong Christian communities; Health and social outreach – responding to human needs in body and spirit; Engagement with the poor and marginalized – especially through programs for family support, healing, and human development (including justice and peace work).
Their spirituality emphasizes solidarity, compassion, and hope in the Cross of Christ, enabling them to accompany individuals, families, and communities in times of joy and suffering.

Short History

The Holy Cross Sisters (CSC) trace their origins to the Congregation of Holy Cross, which was founded in 1837 in Le Mans, France by Blessed Basil Anthony-Marie Moreau as a religious family committed to education, pastoral care, and mission.
