Main Stream: Ivrea Sisters
The charism of the SCIC is gratuity and compassionate service grounded in the mystery of the Immaculate Conception and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They live a spirituality of “freely given” love — offering themselves in humble service without seeking praise or reward — especially to the sick, the poor, children, and the abandoned. Their life is centred on the Cross, the Eucharist, and Mary’s discipleship.
The Sisters of Charity of the Immaculate Conception of Ivrea (SCIC) were founded on June 12, 1773 in Ivrea, Italy under the inspiration of Blessed Antonia Maria Verna, whose deep love for Christ and Mary drew her to dedicate her life to service of the poor and marginalized. Their congregation grew with a mission rooted in imitating the Immaculate Conception of Mary through lives of charity and compassion
