Charism

The charism of the SHF is living and promoting the values of the Holy Family—Jesus, Mary, and Joseph—through humble service, prayer, and community life. Sisters dedicate themselves to education, healthcare, and social outreach, particularly for families, children, and the marginalized. Their spirituality emphasizes humility, simplicity, and fidelity, aiming to create loving and supportive environments where the Gospel is lived and witnessed through action.

Short History

The congregation was founded in the 19th century in France, inspired by the model of the Holy Family and the desire to serve both God and neighbor through active ministries. The sisters initially focused on education of children and care for the poor, gradually expanding to healthcare and pastoral services. Over time, the SHF established missions internationally, including Africa, particularly Kenya and Tanzania, where they continue their work in schools, healthcare institutions, and social programs while maintaining a strong Franciscan-influenced spiritual life.
